Official Greater Paradise Press Release

East Baltimore Church ravaged by fire

BALTIMORE, Maryland—June 29, 2011— The Baltimore Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at our Worship Center (Greater Paradise Christian Center, 2900 E. Oliver Street, Baltimore, Maryland), on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 3:00 a.m. Upon arrival on the scene, firefighters reported fire visible from the main level of the church. Rescue and Firefighting operations began immediately. As a result, our Main Sanctuary and Administrative Office Area suffered significant fire and water damage. The Baltimore City Police Department in concert with The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are currently investigating the series of events from that night.

The church is vigorously working to move forward from this ordeal. We ask your continual prayers and support as we rebuild and refocus the ministry. Our church family is resolved to moving forward with zeal and fortitude, and with a firm foundation...our thrust remains “To Give God the Glory”.

As preliminary decisions take shape, a temporary worship location, which will house ongoing ministry events, has been confirmed. Sunday Morning Worship Services (10am) and Tuesday Night Bible Study (7pm) will convene at the Fort Worthington Elementary School, 2701 E. Oliver Street, Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, A Disaster Relief Benefit Service will take place on Wednesday, July 6th, 2011, hosted by Dr. Reginald Thomas and the Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 2525 E. Preston Street, Baltimore, Maryland. Announcements concerning future special events will be forthcoming, as details filter out.

Daily Bread Bible Verse

8: Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard;

9: he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.

10: For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver.

12 You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.

Evangelism Weekend at Greater Paradise Christian Center

"Each One Reach One" is the slogan for the "Ambassadors of Paradise" or the Evangelism Ministry of the Greater Paradise Christian Center during the Months of April thru July. On Friday April 1st events began with "Joy Night" where the night was filled with guest choirs, guest liturgical dancers, guest step teams, and a Guest speaker, Pastor Kenyon Southers of the Salt Nation Church in Baltimore. The first Saturday of every month the leaders and members of GPCC come together at 10am for Corporate prayer. We pray corporately for our Church, families, our Communities, and Governmental Officials.
To Conclude our Evangelism weekend today, April 3rd at 10am we beging with our "Worship Experience" Denim Service. We are elated that during this service, our very own Mayor of Baltimore City Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, City Councilman Jack Young, the Baltimore City Sheriff, as well as other governmental officials could join us. Following our 10am Service our 12:30pm Family Style Cookout begins on the lawn. All members and guest are able to enjoy hamburgers, hotdogs, and much more all at no expense to them. Keeping in tune with the voting year, the Board of Elections in Baltimore City will be joining us by encouraging those individuals who are not registered voters to make sure they have the power to speak their minds by registering and casting their vote in November. We finally conclude this powerful weekend at the Towson AMF Bowling Lanes for our Family Bowling Event at 3pm. The best is yet to come for GPCC, and we will conclude this blog with our mission:

The mission of the Greater Paradise Christian Center is to reach a hungry world with the life-giving message of salvation through Jesus Christ, by means of worship, evangelism, fellowship, ministry, and discipleship.

The Greater Paradise Christian Center Celebrate Founder - Pastor Shawn L. Bell

The fresh anointing on Senior Pastor Shawn L. Bell, complemented with an insight in the revelation ofGod’s word, is touching the hearts of people around the country. It is very evident that God has raised Pastor Bell up to challenge the Body of Christ out of their complacency. With a perfect merging of foundational structure from both The Historic - Church Of God In Christ and A.M.E. Zion Church, he continues to take people from destruction to their destiny, while carving a path to spiritual renewal.
He began his education in the Gaston County (NC) Public School System, and later matriculated throughthe Livingstone College and Clinton College earning a degree in Liberal Arts. It is of greater knowledgeto couple education with experience.
At the tender age of 15, Pastor Bell ministered his initial sermon at Vestibule A.M.E. Zion Church(King’s Mountain, NC) under the tutelage of his Pastor and (natural) Father, The Reverend CorneliusBell. Ordained and Pastoring in the A.M.E. Zion Reformation at 18, by The Bishop George EdwardBattle, Jr., the pursuit of excellence was always a familiar mark set by Pastor Bell.
God has afforded Pastor Bell, throughout the years, the opportunity to serve in various internationalareas, most notably he serves on the Board of Directors of Dr. Thomas A. Dorsey’s National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses...which he was appointed by his spiritual mentor, The Late Bishop Kenneth H. Moales. Also, in 2010 Pastor Bell was elevated to the Office of International Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Mount Calvary Holy Church of America under the leadership of his beloved Spiritual Parents, Archbishop Alfred A. Owens and Co-Pastor Susie C. Owens (Senior Pastors andEstablishmentarians of the Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church of Washington, DC).

Pastor Bell travels extensively throughout the country ministering in conferences, worship celebrations and leadership seminars. His gifting is recognized by many key leaders of the world to be in the forefront of the apostolic and prophetic function within the Body of Christ. Pastor Bell is not only anointed to preach and teach the word of God, but he also has been blessed musically as a vocalist. He has shared the stage and worked with numerous Recording Artists in workshops, seminars and the like.

Pastor Shawn along with his wife, Lady A. Faye Bell are the Establishmentarians of The Greater Paradise Christian Center, an exciting, urban and thriving church located in the City of Baltimore. Paradise has been impacting the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area since 2003 by challenging its members to realize and fulfill their regional and global responsibilities. With well over several hundred (active) members, GPCC is recognized as a holistic center of Hope on the cutting edge of new an innovative ways for presenting ministry. Many of the groundbreakinginitiatives include the GPCC Center of Hope Community Development Cooperation, which houses both Adult Day programs and Youth drivenactivities; the Paradise

Touch Apparel and Hair Salon; along with the 180-seat Eating and Dining Facility. Pastor Bell has prophetically challenged the people of God spiritually, and economically to remove traditional mindsets and replace them with Kingdom Building mentalities.

In addition to all of Pastor Bell’'s accomplishments, his role as husband to A. Faye Bell and father to Olivia L. Bell has bought the most fulfillment. When you experience the ministry of Pastor Bell, you will quickly recognize the sovereignty of God upon his life, family, and ministry.

So on this Founders Day, we the members of the Greater Paradise Christian Center salute you Pastor Shawn L. Bell.
