As Christians, should we support the side hustle?

We absolutely love a deal

Most of us love to get something for a great price, but from where? It’s different when we go to a store and make a purchase off the sale or clearance racks. We have a receipt, and we bought from a registered business who is held accountable for taxes and customer satisfaction. However, when you buy something off the streets or from a bootlegger, booster, or hustle man you cut out the tax, the higher price, and the company who would profit from that sale. We all can at least admit that we know someone who can get a bootlegged copy of the latest movies or even a good friend who does hair or taxes in her home. Nowadays, you can get handbags, timberland boots, socks, toothpaste, batteries, clothes from your favorite store, or even electronics without ever stepping into an actual store. Take a drive down a main street in Baltimore, Maryland and you can get a bottle of water or sodas, flowers, teddybears, balloons, and gift baskets for holidays. So should we continue to buy from these people when we know that they may have acquired these items illegally. Should we keep taking advantage of a great deal when we know these items didn’t “fall off the back of a truck” but are stolen from retail stores? We are not talking about yard sales or thrift stores, but those on the street selling the CDs they made copies of in their homes, or the jeans they stole from that department store. What about the woman charging people for her dinners, hair styles, or taxes done right in her home? These people are avoiding all kinds of regulations and taxes? All their profit goes into their pockets, while our taxes are raised. Are we held accountable for getting the “hook up?” As Christians, should we be supporting the side hustle?

Leave your comments, we want to hear what you have to say.

Man, I love a hook up! Im a coupon cutting, discount code searching queen. I love a good "Hustleman", but I feel that some of the products shouldn't be supported. I wouldn't support stolen goods because I feel as though I might as well have stolen them myself. Why help a thief make a profit.

i love a deal just like any other person. my co worker actually pointed out to me that i shouldnt be supporting the stealing of movies, which was a bootlegged copy of a tyler perry film. i also went to a tyler perry play and he himself said how bad it was, and how much money and credit is lost when ppl do that rather than go out to the theaters. also it does not reflect in numbers how many ppl actaully see his films. i felt convicted and do not watch or purchase them at all.
