How and why is there an acceptance of same sex marriages in the Body of Christ?

Many churches across America are seeming to be more accepting to the idea of same sex marriages and unions. Surprisingly, the other week a Presbyterian church posted "Support Gay Marriage" on their billboard in North Baltimore. SHOCKED, we had to take a second look to make sure that statement said just what we thought it did.  Years ago, no church would support something so clearly opposed to the Bible. Now, it would appear that churches are siding with the law makers who seek to intergrate the two.

The state of Maryland just had hundreds of supporters for both sides swarm the Maryland Senate office buildings on Tuesday Feb. 8, 2011. There were advocates sharing personal anecdotes and opponents issuing warnings as lawmakers considered legislation that would allow gay couples to marry. The majority of senators on the 11-member Judicial Proceedings Committee have co-sponsored the bill, and opponents acknowledged that their efforts would probably not change any minds. It's the first year that the measure has received such support on the panel. Maryland Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller, who opposes gay marriage, assessed the legislation's chance of clearing the full Senate as better than 50-50. Advocates are optimistic that it will pass in the House of Delegates; Gov. Martin O'Malley has said he would sign such a bill. But opponents vowed to fight it. Maryland would be the 6th state to allow same sex marriages should this bill pass.

The Bible clearly states the churches view of marriage between a man and woman in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 1:9-11, 1 Cor. 7:2-3, Genesis 2:24. So why do some churches accept homosexuality? Take a look at the clip below and see how one woman chose to handle her pastor's choice to accept this new concept into her church home. We are
suggesting anyone follow her example but HOW WOULD YOU HANDLE HER SITUATION?

The church has this overwhelming desire to be non-judgemental and compassionate, that we compromise our foundational/scriptural mandates. I believe EVERYONE should have the opportunity to experience Jesus (i.e. drug addict, prostitute, rapist, homosexual, etc...) but our mission and goal MUST be to give them the UNADULTERATED gospel of truth! If the word says that sin is wrong, SIN IS WRONG!
